Non-destructive digging (NDD) — also called hydro vacuum excavation — uses a combination of pressurised water and powerful industrial vacuum suction to safely excavate soil without the risk of striking buried infrastructure.

Every ASB NDD job follows a structured, safe process — from initial brief through to final documentation.
We discuss scope, access constraints, soil type, and any known buried services. A site visit is arranged if required.
We complete all required safe work method statements and attend site inductions before mobilisation.
Pressurised water is applied to the work zone in controlled bursts to loosen and fluidise the soil without damaging buried infrastructure.
The slurry of water and soil is immediately extracted by the vacuum system into the truck's debris tank — keeping the site clean and the excavation visible.
Once the work is complete, we clean up the work zone. Spoil can be removed from site or stockpiled as required.
We provide a completed job record and, where applicable, photographic evidence of services located.
